Tubbataha, Philippines – In the heart of a UNESCO-listed marine sanctuary, Gombessa Expeditions explored the mesophotic zone. Beyond the reefs known to the public lie depths that had never been surveyed before.
For 13 days, the Gombessa team led by Laurent Ballesta, with the support of Blancpain, spent over 200 hours diving deeper than -120 m. The result: 8 ecosystems unveiled, more than 100 species recorded (including 10 never documented here before), and the very first major deep-diving campaign in the Tubbataha Reefs Natural Park and World Heritage Site, with the support of Department of Tourism - Philippines
