Middle Farm is a residential recording studio complex in South Devon, England, run by producer and musician Peter Miles. Founded in 2010 Middle Farm quickly established itself as one of the most desirable recording locations in the country.  Nestled in the South Hams, the stunning Jurassic Coastline to the east and the vast expanse of Dartmoor to the west, Middle Farm offers a unique environment in which to create.

-Fantastic preamps

-4 FX sends

TAPE MACHINES

Studer A80 VU MK II 2” 24trk
A fantastic example of one of the most iconic pieces of recording equipment. Pink Floyd’s ‘Dark Side Of The Moon’, Queen’s ‘A Night At The Opera’ and Peter Gabriel’s ‘So’ are just a few of the thousands of classic albums made on these machines.
Our example was rescued from the collection of legendary bluesman Seasick Steve and tirelessly restored from the ground up by Lewis Hopkin of Stardelta Audio Electronics to near showroom condition.
For the first time since we opened our doors, fully analogue recording is available at Middle Farm for those brave enough to let go of track counts in their hundreds and embrace the warmth of tape!
-24 Track headblock
-Aligned for RTM SM911 2” tape
-Channel remote rack mounted in control room
-Autolocator installed in Trident console

MCI JH110 1/2” 2trk
Our painstakingly restored MCI JH110 1/2” stereo mastering tape machine is the final link in the Middle Farm analogue recording chain. It’s 1/2” track width allows your stereo mixes to be captured with the highest fidelity and allows a completely analogue signal path.
It’s also fantastic for bringing warmth to in the box mixes, or just send individual stems out to it for a unique analogue flavour. It also makes the most fantastic hi fidelity tape echo!
-1/2” and 1/4” 2 track headblocks
-Aligned for RMT SM911

Tascam 32 1/4” 2trk
This trashy little number is there for when our other tape machines are just too damn good! It’s fantastic for use as a tape echo, or for looping craziness. I wouldn’t trust it on your stereo mix down personally…
